Food Security

Good Health Starts With Access

Food is not separate from health, and health is not separate from opportunity. When families lack consistent access to nutritious food, or when rural communities are cut off from specialized care, the effects ripple across every other area of life. Serving Our Communities Foundation invests in the organizations working to close those gaps, in Nevada and Missouri, with solutions that are rooted in the communities they serve.

In St. Louis, that means supporting urban agriculture initiatives that transform vacant land into working farms and put fresh food directly into the hands of neighbors who need it most. It means backing a community-owned grocery store that returns fresh, affordable food access to a neighborhood that had been without it for years. It means investing in organizations that treat food security and community health as interconnected challenges, building programs that nourish people and strengthen neighborhoods at the same time. In Nevada, it means funding the autism and neurodevelopmental care infrastructure that connects families in rural communities to the specialized health services they need.

Serving Our Communities Foundation’s investment in food security and community health is an investment in the foundation every family deserves. When people are nourished and healthy, everything else becomes more possible.
